New research has led to new, more effective and less invasive cancer diagnostics and treatments. Artificial intelligence, bioimpedance, thermal imaging and nanomaterials have been used for early diagnosis. Over the years, new treatments based on the generation of microwaves, radio frequencies or ultrasound have been proposed. Although hyperthermia has demonstrated its effectiveness, many challenges must be overcome before it can be considered a first-line treatment. One of the main issues is ensuring that the client provides electricity or negative energy to the tumor does not affect the surrounding tissue. In some cases, nanoparticles have been created to improve concentration. Creating new candidates can be done through computer models based on methods such as finite elements. However, in order to estimate applicator performance, it is important that dielectric, thermal and acoustic properties (tissue characterization) are included in the model. Tumors and healthy tissues must be characterized. Optimal treatment can be achieved by creating a specific treatment plan featuring a 3D patient model based on medical images. In addition, the characteristics of the fabric and applicators must be defined. Metrics such as temperature and thermal patterns must be measured to ensure patient safety and effective treatment.
