The emergence of the Modernizing Medical Careers (MMC), the Post Graduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMTEB) and other upcoming bodies will keep the MRCPsych structure in a state of flux in the future. Planning for changes in testing standards presents additional challenges for test takers. Two things make this challenge more difficult than it first appears. First, the structure of the test will change, but the important knowledge it cannot test. Second, reviewing the exam from scratch is a time-consuming process, so future exams will likely be based on past questions. The ISO will also be included in the test format.
