The atlas has undergone significant revisions and expansions in its second edition to incorporate the latest advancements in diagnostic techniques in the field of haematology. It comprises 750 color photomicrographs showcasing both common and less common cell types. The primary purpose of this atlas is to complement the individual study of microscope preparations. The photographs are categorized into five sections, encompassing red cells and their precursors, nonerythroid cells of myeloid origin, lymphocytes, plasma cells and their derivatives and precursors, miscellaneous cells of blood and marrow (including foreign cells and parasites), and the imprint cytology of lymph nodes and spleen. Each section is preceded by a concise introduction, and the appendix provides technical details regarding staining methods. The accompanying text primarily serves the purpose of cell identification, while also offering explanations for certain unusual appearances and cytochemical reactions when necessary. A Colour Atlas of Haematological Cytology will prove beneficial to medical students, professionals in medical laboratory science, as well as doctors and technicians specializing in the diagnosis of haematological diseases.
