In an effort to give medical students, pathology residents, fellows, cytotechnologists, and histotechnologists a thorough, compact resource for frequently used histological methods, Ace My Path: Handbook of Histotechniques was published in its first edition.The idea to write this book came to us in the midst of the COVID pandemic, when we saw a significant shift in the kinds of samples that were being sent to the pathology labs. Samples from elective procedures significantly decreased in all laboratories when emergency treatments took precedence. When the regular, skilled technologists could not make it to the lab and the new hires required training, our friends who worked in places with low staffing levels suffered from the epidemic.Additionally, a crucial component of the MD Pathology exit exams is Histotechniques.
