The world’s oldest continually published general radiography publication, American publication of Roentgenology (AJR), was established in 1907 and is published once a month. AJR is regarded as one of the top peer-reviewed journals in the field and has almost 25,000 copies distributed globally. Across all radiology subspecialties, the magazine publishes clinically focused articles that aim to be relevant to radiologists’ day-to-day work. Every year, the magazine publishes hundreds of pieces in a variety of formats, such as editorials, clinical perspectives, reviews, original research, and other brief reports. Through a variety of social media and digital communication initiatives, the newspaper interacts with its readership. Among radiology journals, AJR received 42,199 citations in 2021 (ranked #4), an Immediacy Index of 2.658 (ranked #10), and an Impact Factor of 6.582 (ranked #23). In the Radiology, Nuclear Medicine & Medical Imaging category, the Impact Factor increased from the 73rd percentile in 2020 and the 70th percentile in 2019 to the 83rd percentile in 2021, out of 136 journals.
