Description

Objectives and Range
The goal of the BJD is to publish the best dermatological research possible. By doing this, the Journal hopes to enhance patient care outcomes by advancing knowledge of, approaches to treating, and management of skin disease. According to a position statement that was released in the June 2015 edition, the primary goal of the BJD is to publish the best research that covers the following topics:

clinical trials that completely comply with CONSORT reporting criteria and are registered prior to recruiting commencing.
Clinical studies that adhere to the STROBE and SRQR reporting requirements and incorporate epidemiology, mixed techniques, and qualitative research.
translational study that explains fundamental and practical science with possible therapeutic applications.
systematic reviews that adhere to the ENTREQ, MOOSE, or PRISMA statements.
As stated in the position statement, the BJD accepts contributions on a wide range of subjects pertinent to clinical and experimental research. Original articles, reviews, clinical guidelines, research letters, perspectives, case reports, and correspondence are all published in the journal.

Although the BJD is an official publication of the British Association of Dermatologists, dermatology researchers from throughout the globe contribute to it. Prominent global doctors, scientists, and academics with expertise in clinical practice comprise the editorial board and editorial team of BJD. The BJD has an equally global readership and distribution. Originality, interest to a multidisciplinary audience, and scientific merit are the main requirements for publication.

Goals and principles
Since its founding in 1888, the BJD has grown to become one of the top publications for general dermatology worldwide. Providing reliable information is the cornerstone of the BJD brand. Building on this strong base, the Journal seeks to meet the requirements of patients from a variety of backgrounds and enhance dermatological care on a global scale.

The BJD strives to give authors prompt, excellent, critical peer review that is directed toward raising the caliber of accepted submissions. The creation of articles has to be precise, timely, and cost-free.
The goal of the BJD is to properly recognize the vital role that reviewers play in preserving the integrity of the content. Section editors for case reports, correspondence, translational research, epidemiology, clinical trials, and qualitative research are part of our editorial staff. The broad group of associate editors designated as subject matter specialists selects peer reviewers. The BJD statistics editor provides statistical review as needed.
The BJD seeks to provide readers with the best clinical and experimental research throughout the spectrum of dermatological specialties, as well as to foster comprehension and ease clinical decision-making. Research pertinent to the skin health of all communities, particularly understudied and vulnerable groups in the past, should be included in the content to better serve the needs of the global populations we serve. This encompasses the well-being of individuals within the LGBTQ community, people of color, the elderly, and those with understudied illnesses.
The BJD provides Plain Language Summaries for patients. The goal of these succinct synopses of original research articles is to make BJD content accessible to skin disease sufferers all around the world.
The BJD strives to provide affordable, flexible pricing options for subscribers, ranging from single article downloads to multiyear, multisite licenses and transitional arrangements.
The goal of the BJD is to provide sponsors with quantifiable returns on investment through ethical marketing solutions.
