This is the most recent edition of this two-volume guide, including updated chapters that incorporate the latest developments in cardiology. This article was edited by faculty at the Carver School of Medicine in Iowa and the University of California, San Francisco. This book includes a total of 15 parts and 120 chapters. The first four sections cover cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, clinical diagnosis and electrophysiology. The following section covers diseases and conditions including vascular disease, heart failure, myocardial and pericardial disease, heart disease, valvular disease, heart disease and infections. Each section includes the latest developments as well as periodic diagnostics and treatments. The final section of the book covers current issues in cardiology, prevention strategies for various cardiovascular diseases, and a final section on “evolving topics,” keeping this text up to date.
