This book places echocardiography in a modern clinical context. It aims to integrate guidance into clinical practice for real patients by providing step-by-step instructions for conducting, reporting and interpreting research. I wrote this thinking of the gentle voice of an echocardiographer teaching young people. This edition has been revised with expanded sections on critical illness, critical care, and emergency medicine. COVID-19 has forced patients and doctors to limit the spread of the disease, leading to longer waiting lists.
