The second edition has undergone extensive revisions, updates, and expansions to cater to the readers. Six new chapters have been introduced in this edition: Bone marrow trephine biopsy; Tru-cut biopsy or Core needle biopsy; Diagnostic use of immunohistochemistry in surgical pathology; Microarrays and DNA sequencing; Microdissection and various types of polymerase chain reaction; and Quality control in histopathology. The Frozen Section chapter has been completely overhauled with additional practical information to address the challenges encountered by users during cryostat/frozen sections. A new section in tabular form has been included in the Appendix, summarizing molecular diagnostic changes in various diseases, tumors, and hereditary conditions. These updates, particularly the new chapters, were incorporated in response to reader feedback, particularly from postgraduate students pursuing an MD in Pathology.
