Description

A refresher on the foundations of neuroradiological and musculoskeletal imaging is given to clinicians by the UCSF School of Medicine Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging’s UCSF Neuro and Musculoskeletal Imaging activity.

Synopsis
The doctor will receive an update on several fundamentals of neuro and musculoskeletal imaging from this course. This will focus on MR and CT scans in addition to other ways to enhance the quality of imaging. The most recent data on improved MRI techniques and neuro CT/MRI protocols will be shared in order to enhance the differential diagnosis of lesions in the adult and pediatric brain, head and neck, spine, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system.

Learning Goals
Following completion of this task, participants will be able to: Use newly learned information to enhance procedures for neuro and musculoskeletal CT/MR imaging
Identify particular imaging characteristics of CNS infections, post-traumatic brain and spine injuries, brain tumors, pediatric anomalies, and hydrocephalus.
Identify disease associated with MRI of the key musculoskeletal joints and normal anatomy.
Use MRI to distinguish between children’s normal and aberrant bone marrow processes.
Conduct and decipher MR arthrography Identify internal derangement and typical postoperative imaging appearances in the knee and shoulder, as well as apply the most recent metal and cartilage suppression sequences.
Enhance MRI assessment of pectoralis muscle injuries, adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder, and peripheral neuropathies
