Description

The course, which features lectures by faculty members who are respected for their clinical expertise and commitment to teaching, is intended to reflect the breadth and depth of experience from each of UCSF Radiology’s specialist sections. The principles of the main organ systems and the accompanying imaging modalities will be covered in this review course. The focus will be on outlining a methodical approach to arrive at a differential diagnosis.

Comparative analysis and important elements that support a radiologist’s accurate diagnosis in clinical practice will be the main topics of the lecture. To provide the student with a comprehensive review of radiology concepts and terminology, as well as exposure to a cross-section of topical and therapeutically relevant interesting cases, formal didactic lectures will be coupled with unknown case review sessions.

Target Market
This thorough introduction of radiography, which covers all the major subspecialties, is suitable for residents, clinical fellows, and practicing radiologists who want to refresh their working knowledge.

Recognize the differences between nuclear medicine, computed tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, and ultrasound techniques as well as their applications in clinical practice.
Understand interventional modalities and when to apply them.
Identify and characterize the pathophysiological processes that underlie human illness.
Determine the foundations of the different speciality areas in imaging.
Describe the best possible imaging examination for a range of frequently occurring clinical disorders.
