Primary care has undergone significant transformation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. These days, difficult management choices need to be made through telemedicine and in redesigned ambulatory settings. Primary care physicians still need to concentrate on preventive medicine, lowering cardiovascular risk factors, managing chronic illnesses, women’s health, geriatrics, behavioral medicine, and making the best use of new medications and diagnostic tests in addition to day-to-day clinical issues. While we work to enhance quality, safety, equity, and value, health inequalities and the care of vulnerable patients play a crucial role in our everyday practice.
